Heather Boone

Originally from Newfoundland, I moved to Alberta in 2004 and began my career with Olds High that same year. While living in St. John’s, I attended Memorial University and completed a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a double major in English and Psychology. My Honours thesis explored reading challenges in the Deaf community and this project generated a strong interest in reading assessments. This interest has continued with my work at OHS and my role at the school includes teaching English and Social Studies at the Grade 12 level and coordinating assessments and accommodations for students with unique learning profiles. In 2013 I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology through a joint program offered through the University of Lethbridge, the University of Calgary and Athabasca University.
