Promoting Positive Mental Health Presentations

Olds High School believes in the importance of recognizing and promoting positive mental health.  This month we have made arrangements with an organization in Red Deer to present to all of our grade 9 students and to offer an elective session for high school students.  The Youth Education Coordinator from Suicide Information & Education Services in Red Deer will travel to Olds on October 19th and again on October 22nd.  The grade 9 presentation will address self-esteem, communication and positive relationships while exploring mental health and resiliency.  The presentation that high school students may choose to attend will focus on "The Stress of Tests" and will help students learn effective study habits and assist with building de-stressing skills.

Parent letters outlining both presentations are available at the following links (Grade 9 Presentation and High School Presentation) and you are welcome to contact Tane Skotheim, Family Wellness Worker at OHS if you have further questions.
